This basement/garden apartment is technically an efficiency however it features a built in wall that separates the living and sleeping space which creates a bedroom and living area. A full size mattress will fit in the sleeping space with walking room on each side of the bed. There is one closet for clothes and another closet with shelving inside for storage. The apartment also comes with a storage locker and bike hook to hang your bike inside in a secured area right outside your door next to coin operated laundry facilities.
The kitchenette area is separate from the living area and is very small more like a walkway to the bathroom. The kitchenette appliances are smaller than usual, a new fridge, a four burner mini-stove and sink with a small counter area. The kitchenette is more for heating food than cooking full meals sadly, but with all the good restaurants nearby who needs to cook, right?
The "half" bathroom features a new toilet and sink installed last year, but only a stand up shower with dual spouts no tub.
Despite being in the basement the apartment has 2 full sized windows in the bedroom area and 1 in the living for a great cross breeze. Because half of the apartment is underground, it stays naturally cool during the summer and fall, and when the heat is on it is well insulated from the wind, staying toasty warm in the winter and spring. The unit also has wood floors in the living and sleeping area, and updated ceramic tile in the kitchenette and half bath area.
You will not find such a great deal in this neighborhood if you are single and looking to save money on housing expenses while having the privacy of living alone. This "tiny" apartment is ideal for a single person in school or a young professional attempting to save money while living in a hip neighborhood close to everything.
